Imagine the courage it takes to leave behind your home, family and livelihood, venturing to a new land in search of safety and opportunity. Their experience encourages us to appreciate the diversity of cultures and backgrounds that enrich our nation, while reminding us of our responsibility to preserve the democratic principles that make America a beacon of hope.
