AWCI Convention Plaudits

As you read this letter we are coming up to the AWCI’s Annual Convention and the Intex Expo. Marilyn and I want to invite you to join us on April 1–5 in Orlando, Fla., for some great educational programs, hospitality events and the largest wall and ceiling trade show in the world.

This is our chance to get out of the office and meet old friends and hopefully develop some new friendships that will last forever. I can tell you how important these relationships are when you get answers to a big problem by simply making a call to one of those friends living elsewhere in the country—someone you wouldn’t know if you never attended an AWCI convention.

One of the things I enjoy most about the convention is getting together with old colleagues from different regions. Talking to them about their markets and how they could impact our markets usually results in stimulating conversation.

Having just returned from the Bau trade show in Munich, Germany, I saw a different type of trade show where not just wall and ceiling materials were on display. Perhaps the best thing about the trip was the relationships that I made while visiting with contractors from Europe. Many things that they do, we do here, but there are some things they do that are new and exciting to me.

If you have not registered for this year’s AWCI event, you still have time to do so; go to www.awci.org today to sign up. Come and join us. It truly is a place you can establish relationships that will serve you and your business well into the future.
